About San Diego Excellence Plumbing
A local plumbing company doing honest work for San Diego homeowners.
Why we started
Everyone has a plumber story. The one who quoted $400 on the phone and $1,900 at the door. The one who found four extra problems while replacing a garbage disposal. The one whose 24/7 line went to voicemail at 11pm on a Saturday while water ran through a kitchen ceiling.
We built this company around not being that. It isn't complicated: answer the phone, show up when you say you will, quote before you work, and do the job properly the first time.
How we operate
Upfront pricing
You get the number before we pick up a tool. If we open a wall and find something different than expected, we stop, show you, and give you a new number to approve. No invoice ever surprises you.
Genuine 24/7
A person answers, not a machine. If a truck can roll, one rolls. If the smart move is to shut a valve and wait until morning, we tell you that instead of charging you an after-hours rate you don't need to pay.
Diagnose before we sell
Camera down the drain before quoting a sewer replacement. Acoustic locate before opening a slab. Test the thermocouple before condemning a water heater. Diagnosis costs us a little more time, and saves you a lot of money.
Warranty in writing
Parts carry their manufacturer warranty. Our labor carries ours, in writing, on the invoice. If something we installed fails within the warranty period, we come back and make it right.
Local knowledge that matters
North San Diego has its own plumbing personality, and knowing it saves time on every call:
- Hard water everywhere. Our mineral content chews through water heaters and leaves scale in fixtures and tankless units. Maintenance intervals here are shorter than the manufacturer's generic recommendation.
- Slab-heavy newer construction. 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Santaluz, Torrey Highlands - plumbing under post-tension concrete. Slab leaks need locating, not guessing.
- Aging laterals in the older neighborhoods. Rancho Bernardo, Poway, and Escondido have clay and cast-iron sewer lines with 50+ years of root pressure on them.
- Seasonal irrigation load. A lot of "mystery" high water bills here turn out to be irrigation leaks, not house plumbing. We check that before quoting anything expensive.
